Samuel (28) was spotted in Newtown on his way home from work on a warm summer evening. The film festival coordinator described his style as unprepared prep and named the Carlisle Castle Hotel as one of his favourite spots in Newtown for its laid back vibe and gnocchi.

DOMINIC IN REDFERN

Dominic (26) was spotted grabbing some lunch in Redfern on a warm Sydney afternoon. The architect described his style as pretty cas, with a basic polo and jeans. I’ve always wanted to be a ’t-shirt & jeans’ kind of guy but I just can’t seem to pull it off like he can. 

RICKY IN SURRY HILLS

Ricky (26) was spotted passing through Surry Hills on a cool spring afternoon. I immediately appreciated his skill for layering, with a simple light tan jacket and dark green spotted ascot to fight the chill. Ricky, a hat seller, described his style as preppy.

JAMES IN SURRY HILLS

James (26) was spotted in Surry Hills at a gallery opening I was attending. I really enjoyed the subtle pattern on his shirt, making an otherwise basic outfit interesting with the unique touch. The cow belt buckle also doesn’t hurt. The set designer described his style as old world meets contemporary.

DANIEL IN REDFERN

Daniel (21) was spotted on his way to a dance audition on a blazing Sydney afternoon. It was refreshing to see these flat top square cut sunnies instead of aviators or “Ray Bans” everyone is wearing nowadays.

LYLLE IN NEWTOWN

Lylle (26) was spotted strolling the streets of Newtown on a weekend afternoon. Working in the business of fashion himself, Lylle described his style as prep with a bit of a twist. The simplicity of the outfit with the added twist of the little embroidered figures on his rolled up shorts are a wonderful detail that add a little something different.

DARIUS IN NEWTOWN

Darius (22) was spotted filming a school assignment in the streets of Newtown. A student at a local university, he described his style as modern/professional. The mix of the modern navy blue skinny jean and classic distressed brown leather shoe are such a nice way to bring old and new together.

PABLO IN NEWTOWN

Pablo (30-something) was spotted at the Newtown Markets on a Saturday afternoon. While setting up his stand with his daughters, I found that he was very approachable, largely to the way that he held himself; very relaxed, yet confident. He described his style as myself.
