CORE STYLE

Back in the day I didn’t care or even put that much effort into what I wore, I just dressed in whatever I could get my hands on. And to be honest, it usually meant clothing that was more practical rather than what was trendy at the time.

I spent my twenties touring around Australia with bands and in the process I saw all sorts of guys rocking different styles of clothing.

Up in Queensland the boys seemed more relaxed with their sartorial choices and it wasn’t uncommon to see local bands customize their tops by ripping off their sleeves and have their pants tearing at the seams in an act of functionality.

When we would travel south, colder days and nights meant more layers; jeans and tees were worn with hoodies and denim vests in a desperation to keep warm.

At that stage in my life I really didn’t think about what “style" meant and foolishly thought it was all about brands and labels, rather than how you wore something to express yourself. I look back now and see how naive I was to even think that way.

Personal style is about getting your personality to shine through. Whether it be with a band t-shirt or a tailored suit, wear it with pride and make sure it’s true to you.
